A Message from the President

In Financial year 2014-15, DBTS has made several attempts to promote quality education among the children of marginalized families. The parents of the children are poor and working as labourers in the agriculture lands, working on looms of saree making and other works which gives a minimum income.

DBTS is giving free education for those sections of children from nursery to class X. For 2014-15, the selection of the students for class I was based on the economic conditions of the family. This was done in a transparent way giving an opportunity to the right child.
The achievements in Public Examinations in class X were good and all students appeared for class X have passed and secured good marks. Out of 48 students, 3 students have outstanding performance. They secured 10 out of 10 points.

The school is recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and following the procedures of Government in assessment of the performance of the students. Summative assessment has been conducted in October, December and due in April. Formative assessment before summative assessment has been conducted four times in this financial year. These tests are increasing re-producing ability among the students of what they learnt in the class room.

The school is only for day scholars. But 48 orphan and semi orphan students have residential facility. All their needs are being met by DBTS. There are 546 students in the school from nursery to class X. The medium of instruction is English. A 6-member parent committee gives their valuable suggestions for the smooth functioning of the school.

Happiest moment at the school was the visit of Mr. Walter Jorge Ankli, founder and one of the chief benefactors of DBTS. He was suffering from serious sickness and has recovered from it. During his stay he instilled motivation among staff members and children of DBTS.
Continuous support from Rural Development Trust, Ananthapuramu is an additional advantage to meet the requirements of DBTS.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of DBTS, who has made a difference in all possible ways in bringing quality in education of deserving children.

Moncho Ferrer
